The local fire service were kind enough to act on standby while i burnt away my cleared section, naturally i took the opportunity to set up a couple of lights to grab a few photos. Made an interesting quick shoot, light the fire and run like made to the tripod. Normally, i like to do a bit of direction with my models, but when there’s a large fire burning it makes it a bit tricky.

Merry Christmas
I recently got back from doing another shoot for TNZ, certainly one of the most physical shoots i have done. An all day promotional shoot with backpackers crossing theTongariro National Park, regarded as one of the best day walks in the world.
Thankfully i regard myself as quite fit, other wise i might have struggled keeping up and failed to make the bus the other end. Carrying food, water and camera gear toke there toll not only on legs, but shoulders as well, but well worth it and loved every minute of it, especially the few at the summit.

Mother nature has been kind again this year, with the last weekend of November showing a good swell and in turn attracting the surfers. This year i wanted to keep with closeups but wanted to convert to B&W and harsher lighting. I seem to be going through a black and white stage for personal work at the moment.

Movember
